Location: Back streets of San Antonio, Ibiza
Camera: Canon 40D
Lens: Canon 17-85mm IS EFS USM
Exposure details: 1/800 Sec @ F/16 ISO 800
Processing: Nik HDR Efex via Adobe Lightroom plugin then some clarity adjustments and saturation adjustments within lightroom.
Slightly hung over walking down one of the back streets in San Antonio early one morning and I spotted this man slumped against a wall completely asleep in front of a bus stop marked on the road. I quickly raised my camera from around my neck (still set with the high ISO 800 from the previous night) and fired off a couple of exposures. This is one of the more iconic shots from y trip which I think really captures the spirit of San Antonio the clubbing life style and the aftermath that follows

definitely a place I have always wanted to visit, I would just plan on taking better advantage of the mornings than this guy.

Hi Justin, I fully agree! I was at the opposite side of the scale to this guy! the clubs were of no interest other than for photographic subjects and at 70 euro’s entrance price can you blame me!!! extortionate!
When you do go I would certainly suggest hiring a car and seeing more of the island than the typical tourist traps. Es Vedra is the main photogenic place on the island just of off the coast of the mainland 2 islands one of which is huge and really caught my eye as soon as it was in view. I wish I could have got some sunset shots there but other plans meant I had to piss that one! I did get some good shots through the day which I’ll be posting later.
I’d strongly recommend visiting the old town part of Ibiza town at night. I went both during the day and at night and although the International Muisc Summit made for some interesting atmosphere the place just felt more alive after dark and its sooo photogenic.
Other than that I’d check out the churches (most towns have one) they all have their own little bit of character and some of the internals are spectacular such as San Miguel! And don’t forget the more traditional rural towns in land for a few good local street shots.
